The Virgin and Child sit within the vesica which is set within a second vesica. They are attended by the three magi.

In a traditional Marseille deck World card the dancing figure symbolises the feminine principle that creates all life. She is birth and rebirth. She is sex as a means to bring forth spirit into creation and sacred sex as a divine mystery that has the ability to lead us back to oneness and complete unity with not only our partner but also with our creator.

In tarot the vesica pisces is an important symbol as it is related to The Pope and number 5. Sound is carried through the ethers and the Pope symbolises our ability to connect to the spirit and causal world through silence, meditation and also guidance from spiritual teachers.

In the Tarrochi de Mantegna, a set of 108 prints which have similarities to tarot, Jupiter is depicted sitting in the vesica just the same as Christ is. Here Jupiter is shown sitting on the bridge between heaven and earth having dominion over life and death.
The planet Jupiter rules Kings and was also the “star” that the three magi followed in order to find Jesus.
